About the Image to PDF

A PDF is what you send when several pictures need to arrive as one document in a fixed order: photographed receipts for an expense claim, screenshots of a conversation, pages of something scanned with a phone. Loose image files arrive in whatever order the recipient's mail client feels like, and half of them get overlooked.

This takes any mix of formats — PNG screenshots, JPG photos, WebP downloads, HEIC straight from an iPhone — and lays them out one image per page, in the order you arrange them.

Page size, orientation and margins are yours to set. A4 with automatic orientation suits most things: each page turns to match its image, so a landscape photo does not end up small in the middle of a portrait page. Choose Letter for anything going to the United States, or Fit to image when the PDF is for the screen and the paper size is irrelevant.

Images are placed at full resolution and scaled to the page, so text in a screenshot stays readable when someone zooms in. Non-JPEG images are converted to JPEG on the way in, because that is what PDF can carry efficiently — a PNG photograph embedded as-is would produce a file several times larger for no visible benefit.

The whole document is assembled in your browser. For receipts, bank statements and scanned documents — the usual reasons for making a PDF of photographs — nothing being uploaded is the point.

How to use the Image to PDF

    Any mix of PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC. Add them in several goes if that is easier.

  2. Put them in order

    Move each one up or down until the pages read correctly. This is the order they will appear in the PDF.

  3. Choose the page setup

    A4 or Letter with automatic orientation suits most documents. Fit to image when it is only ever going to be read on a screen.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix different image formats in one PDF?
Yes. PNG screenshots, JPG photographs, WebP downloads and HEIC files from an iPhone can all go into the same document — they are converted to something PDF can carry as they are added.
What page size should I use?
A4 for most of the world, Letter for the United States. Automatic orientation turns each page to match its image, so landscape photos fill the page instead of sitting small in the middle. Fit to image when the PDF will only ever be viewed on a screen.
Will screenshots still be readable?
Yes. Images are placed at their full resolution and scaled to fit the page, so zooming in shows the original detail. Choosing no margins gives the image the most room on the page.
Why is my PDF bigger than the images were?
PNG and WebP are converted to JPEG on the way in, and a PDF carries some structure of its own. If size matters, run the result through the PDF compressor afterwards.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The PDF is assembled in your browser. Since this is usually used for receipts, statements and scanned documents, that is not a minor detail.
