Resizing sounds simple until a form rejects your photo for being the wrong dimensions, or a banner comes out stretched because the height was changed without the width. This resizer keeps the two linked by default, so typing a width fills in the height that preserves the proportions, and unlinks them only when you deliberately ask for it.

That distinction matters more than it looks. Forcing an image into dimensions that do not match its shape stretches faces and text, and it is the single most common way a resized image ends up looking amateur. When the ratio is locked, choosing a preset fits the picture inside those dimensions instead of distorting it to match.

Enlarging is treated honestly. Asking for more pixels than the original contains cannot invent detail — the result is a bigger, softer version of the same picture — so the tool warns you rather than quietly producing something worse. If you need a genuinely larger image, go back to the original source rather than upscaling a small copy.

The preview updates as you type, alongside the original and new file sizes, so you can see the effect before committing to a download. You can also change format on the way out: JPG for photographs, PNG when transparency matters, WebP when the file is going on the web and you want it smaller.

Everything is done by your own browser using a canvas, so the image never leaves your device and there is no queue and no upload limit. Rotation recorded by a phone's camera is read and applied first, so a photo taken sideways is resized the right way up rather than being locked into the wrong orientation.
