About the Split PDF
A PDF arrives as one file when it is really several things: a forty-page statement covering four months, a scanned bundle where only pages nine to twelve are the contract, a report whose appendix needs to go to a different person. Splitting it turns the file into the pieces it was always made of.
There are three ways to do it here because people want genuinely different things. Splitting every page separately is right for a scanned batch of receipts. Fixed-size parts suit a document with a regular structure — two pages per invoice, four per form. And selecting particular pages gives you one new document containing exactly those, which is what you want when only one section matters.
The pages are copied rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original quality, and links inside the copied pages survive. Nothing is re-encoded and nothing is lost.
What does not come across is anything held at the document level rather than the page level: bookmarks, form field values, and attachments. That is a real limit of doing this in a browser, and it is better to say so than to let someone discover it after sending the file.
Everything happens on your device. PDFs that get split are usually statements, contracts and scanned identity documents, so that matters here more than on most tools.
